Descripción
Eporip from the Mapei brand is a solvent-free epoxy adhesive, consisting of two pre-dosed components (component A = resin and component B = hardener) that must be mixed together before use.
CHARACTERISTICS
- Eporip has the consistency of a slightly thixotropic paste that can be applied with a brush on both horizontal and vertical surfaces.
- Eporip polymerizes without shrinkage and, once hardening is completed, it is impermeable to water, has optimal dielectric properties and high mechanical characteristics, as well as adhesion to concrete and steel.
- Eporip responds to the principles defined by EN 1504-9 (“Products and systems for the protection and repair of concrete structures: definitions, requirements, quality control and conformity assessment. General principles for the use of products and systems”) and to the minimum requirements required by EN 1504-4 (“Structural gluing”)
TO IMPORTANT NOTICES
- Do not apply Eporip with temperatures below +5° C
- Do not apply Eporip on wet surfaces (although it tolerates slight humidity)
- Do not pour fresh concrete over hardened Eporip
- Do not apply Eporip on dusty, friable or inconsistent supports.
FIELDS OF APPLICATION
- Creation of monolithic work joints between fresh concrete and hardened concrete
- Gluing precast concrete elements
- Mixed concrete-steel gluing
- Filling cracks in concrete
Some application examples
- Union bridge in structural reinforcements of beams and pillars
- Union bridge over degraded industrial pavements
- Union bridge in waterproof rigid joints (for example, tank foundation slab-wall)
- Reinforcement of beams using the metal cladding technique
- Sealing fissures or cracks in cementitious screeds
CONSUMPTION
Consumption varies depending on the irregularities present in the support and the method used for its application.
Indicatively:
– connecting bridge on a rough support: 0.5 ÷ 0.7 kg/m²;
– connecting bridge on very irregular supports: 1.0 ÷ 2.0 kg/m²;
– crack sealing: 1.35 kg/l of cavity to be filled;
– gluing prefabricated concrete elements
or concrete-steel: 1.35 kg/m² per mm of thickness.
