Descripción
Mapei's Ultrabond MS Rapid is a high-viscosity and thixotropy adhesive, based on polymers modified with silanes and, therefore, free of silicones and isocyanates, developed in MAPEI's R&D Laboratories.
CHARACTERISTICS
Regarding polyurethane formulations, Ultrabond MS Rapid guarantees:
- compatibility even with wet substrates
- greater ease of extrusion, especially at low ambient temperatures
- faster surface hardening
- longer shelf life
- the use of traditional plastic cartridges
Regarding neutral silicone formulations, Ultrabond MS Rapid offers:
- better adhesion to construction supports, both compact and absorbent
- greater initial “suction effect”
- absence of “product thread” at the end of extrusion
- greater mechanical resistance to traction and shear
- Possibility of painting with elastomeric paints commonly used in construction
- absence of migration of plasticizers and the consequent contamination of the support
IMPORTANT NOTICES
- Do not use on dusty or friable surfaces
- Do not apply on wet surfaces or surfaces exposed to rising humidity.
- Do not use on surfaces dirty with oil, grease or release agents.
- Do not use on bituminous surfaces
- Do not apply Ultrabond MS Rapid at temperatures below +5° C
- Proceed to gluing the elements right after extruding the adhesive, avoiding unnecessary waits.
- Avoid contaminating the fresh product with alcoholic solvents
FIELDS OF APPLICATION
- Ultrabond MS Rapid is a deformable adhesive with a high elastic modulus, one-component, thixotropic, based on silane-modified polymers, which is characterized by a high initial grip (“suction effect”) and a rapid final hardening.
- It is recommended, therefore, as an adhesive for gluing that requires, in a short time, a strong initial grip and a high final mechanical resistance.
- Compatibility with most construction materials, both absorbent and non-absorbent, even wet, and its rapid polymerization, allow Ultrabond MS Rapid to be used easily and practically in the construction and assembly of construction and industrial components and finishes, in replacement or as a complement to traditional mechanical fixings
- Suitable for gluing, indoors and outdoors, parapets, stone lintels, skirting boards, parquet, wooden or plastic cable covers, thermal and acoustic insulating panels, curved ceramic tiles, wall and door coverings, cladding plates and prefabricated elements
- Furthermore, specific for the installation of Idrostop Soft, a hydro-expansive bentonite joint, for the waterproofing of concreting joints and the sealing of bodies passing through concrete elements.

- Depending on the gluing method used (dots or beads)
- As an indication, a 300 ml cartridge covers 5 linear meters of adhesive cord with triangular section 10 x 10 mm (base x height)
